After hearing Rich Amiri’s ‘One Call’ I instantly became a fan and attached to his effortless flow and raw emotion in his voice. Since that day I have been waiting and waiting for this album drop after months of teasers and marketing it is safe to say that Amiri did not disappoint me.
One of my favourite things on this album is the features with OsamaSon and how they smoothly compliment each other. With Osama starting the entire project off is a perfect intro into the world we are about to experience. His perfect balance and unique auto-tune compliments Amiri’s sharp and aggressiveness so so well.
The energy on ‘War Ready’ is relentless and almost electric, this is Rich Amiri saying fuck XXL, I am HIM and I’m ready to win. The production matches the vibe by blending atmospheric sounds (almost like in a huge cave) with punchy basslines that create that sense of urgency – for anyone gearing up for war. (Need Tottenham players to bump this before the Chelsea game).
‘War Ready’ is more than a collection of songs, it’s clear that Amiri sought out sounds that elevate the storytelling. This is a testament to his growth and determination as an artist and I am just happy to be hear after the long anticipated wait.
