I usually only cover the underground music scene and try expose followers of the blog to artists that I enjoy and think deserve to get more recognition for their talents. But, today I had an unworldy experience listening to “Timeless”. So here’s what makes it so special for me.
Carti’s voice has undergone a remarkable evolution and I thought that this song truly captivates his growth and changes as an artist. In “Timeless”, Carti creates a contrast between his different voices, his baby voice feels nostalgic (while he also references ‘DIE LIT’), reminiscing of his earlier work, while his darker tone is the step to his final form – reflecting his growth.
On a deeper level, I viewed it as Carti speaking to himself from the present to the past using his insane talent of manipulating his voice, but it could also be interpreted more simply as us just witnessing his growth in sound – hence the title – ‘Timeless’
In essence I just wanted to share my take on the track and serve as a reminder for the upcoming artists that you will never be finished. Even the best artists have to grow to not get left behind. But also, that these early years are the best and I’m sure Carti misses it sometimes too.
