After listening to Eem for a little under a year and enjoying every body of work that he releases, I came across a comment on X, which was – ‘Eem Triplin is entering his Tyler The Creator stage of his career’. And since then it has stuck in my head. I usually do not like to compare artists (for numerous reasons) however, I do see where this guy was coming from.
Listening to ‘DUYA’ took me right back to my first listen of ‘Flower Boy’ with a purer tone and less raw aggression and eerie depths that define Tyler’s unpredictability. Eem Triplin explores more harmonic tones, brighter colors in his video, and you just can’t help but feel heavenly when listening to him.
This single, I believe is the second single of his upcoming album ‘Melody of a Memory’ releasing this Monday. I think it’s a beautiful thought of it dropping a few days after Valentine’s and the weekend, because it sounds exactly like a dreamy Truman-esc world.
