BABYLOWSK1 – ‘Balva’

BABYLOWSK1 has taken the underground world by storm. Coming off of his last project ‘Wis > Wus’ he continues to show the world that he is here to stay. Reminds me of watching my dog piss, then my other dog comes just after and pees in the exact spot to say – ‘this is my area now’. Balva is BABYLOWSK1 saying – ‘I run this shit now’.

A great deal of work has definitely gone into the making of Balva, and I really hope this pushes many more underground artists to show that at the end of the day it really is quality over quantity. BABYLOWSK1 delivers something only he can deliver, a thoroughly riveting album showing his power and expermental promise.

The opening jazz to the haunted drop on ‘Brought me down’ was a great hint and introduction to the highs and lows of the album, embracing for the journey that is – ‘Balva’ . The first feature on the album comes in track at 3 with ‘Nobu’ making space for K1llbrady to breakthrough the calm flow and add another level of destruction to sound, because, why not?

‘Sunset’ – my personal favourite on the album, perfectly seeing my self driving down a milky-galaxy road in a classic benz-ema, while the echo of the classic ‘eh-eh’ continues to keep my shoulders moving. The world is perfect and I am free. Followed by the smooth switch over to ‘OM#5’ produced by newtankmerc, where he [newtankmerc] carries the muted fuzz and beautifully crafted scratches to a tee. The deep-bladen R&B mixture of Blxckie on ‘Sundowns’ let’s fans know that this what we are here for, and we are in a good space.
