25.7(P1)- Marni6nly

The South African based artist has been making his rounds around the underground, and not just in his native country. Marni gives us a dive into ‘25.7(P1)’ containing heavy 808s, exotic synths, and all around a fantastic listening experience. His vocals, perfectly complimentary to the beats, seemingly blended together and just sticking out here and there for the sake of emphasis.

With features from the likes of other local stars such as bigaj!, Kidd Omri, and producer Newtankmerc, further emphasising the direction and level that Marni6nly is headed to. Right from the get go, ‘2 DA END’ hits us up with immediate bass tied together with Marni’s signature baby voice with a beautiful touch of the scratch of a dj disc rewind sound. The standout track for me is ‘EXCITE ME’ where the artist takes a touch of Türban influence with his vocals but the deep guitar melody is just alien-like. Lyrically the track is actually a contrast to it’s own title, where he stunts on hypebeasts and how flashy things and pretty girls don’t excite him, pushing him above that show-off era and seemingly expressing that those flashy things are just standard to him, no need to flex it.

Overall, Marni is able to seemingly change his sound from track to track while still keep his fundamentals of his sound together. Solidifying him as a truly unique artist and leaving listeners wanting more, while also a bit of uncertainty of what sound we will get, cause with this guy it’s always going to be something unexpected.
